Hi everyone!

Welcome to Apple Trees and Pumpkin Seeds (ATPS), a blog for glorifying God through school and helping others.  In my posts, I will write a lot about faith in Christ, books, and random other things I’m passionate about!  This is a blog for teens who are seeking Christ.  I’m Emma, a girl who enjoys dancing, reading, and loudly singing Disney songs.  I hope you will enjoy and learn a lot from my posts.  If you have any questions about the blog, Jesus, or you just want to connect with me, feel free to email me: emma@appletreesandpumpkinseeds.com.

Ok, so you’re probably wondering what Apple Trees and Pumpkin Seeds means.  Well here it is:  In Genesis 2:16-17 it says, “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, ‘You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.'” (Basically saying ,”I’m giving you all these cupcakes, but don’t eat the prettiest one because it’s poisoned.”)  But of course in Genesis 3:6 it unfortunately says, “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her and he ate.” (Ok, so now poisoned cupcakes that I specifically told you not to eat are your favorite food?)  This is what we call the first sin, so the “Apple Trees” in the name Apple Trees and Pumpkin Seeds reminds me of our sins.  Also, an apple is a universal symbol for school, or education, which this blog talks a lot about.  Well, what about “Pumpkin Seeds”?  Picture a big pumpkin, with lots of that slimy gross stuff inside, and of course, the seeds.  Pretend that we are the seeds, and God is the pumpkin.  We are the seeds in God, the pumpkin and if we trust in Him, our sins are forgiven.  So the name Apple Trees and Pumpkin Seeds partially means that even though we have sins, if we rest in Christ and believe in His love and that He died for us, then we will be forgiven.  This is faith in Christ.  Even though as teens we don’t have full time jobs that we can use to glorify God, He did give us something else to glorify Him through: School.  So we can live out our faith by reflecting God at school.  This is what Apple Trees and Pumpkin Seeds ultimately means.

Thanks for checking out ATPS!!

I recently started a blog for Christian teens too, so could I post this link on there to help you get more readers? I know from experience how much you probably want people to read your blog 🙂
Good luck on your Do Hard Things!!
